Update on the WTHS Community Garden Project: We have met and are exceeding our project goals. 16 raised bed gardens have been constructed, ongoing classroom and summer camp lessons have and are taking place, more than 150 pounds of produce have been distributed, and students (and bunnies) are loving eating fresh food!
WTHS's STATT Camp is in its second week and students are engaged in so many ways using new tools and learning new skills in everything from culinary arts and agriculture to carpentry and welding to 3D/Laser printing and digital audio and more! It's so exciting to see students loving learning!

The results are in: Six WTHS SkillsUSA individual and group team members finished in the top 10 in the Nation! That's an impressive display of skills and achievements! Great job students and thank you to our SkillsUSA advisors.
We got one! Congratulations to Victor Rohrs and Lydia Beagle (and SkillsUSA advisor Mary Miller)! They are NATIONAL Bronze Medalists in Mobile Robotics! This is an outstanding accomplishment! Well done team!
People find success when they put in the effort and put in the work. Our SkillsUSA National Team put a lot of effort into their work, and they ignited their potential- finding a lot of success today after their first day of full competitions. What sets WTHS apart is that every night, the team debriefs and gets their game plan ready for the following day. Our students know how to plan for success and execute the task at hand with powerful performances. Day 2 of competitions continues tomorrow and it's going to be exciting. Several individual and group competitors are vying for a national top 10 or better finish! Let's Go!!!

The SkillsUSA National Conference and Competition kick-off was exciting, and it really got 18,000 students ultra pumped! Guest speaker Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs spoke about his concern about the growing skilled labor gap that exists across America where for every 5 skilled workers lost to retirement only 2 new workers are being hired. The decreased pool of skilled women and men who are ready to work has been like this for over a decade. Major corporations like Snap On Tools and Toyota are here and ready to hire hundreds of our skilled SkillsUSA students! Let's Go!!!

SkillsUSA National Opening Ceremonies are underway. WTHS National Teammates were busy today getting briefed on their competitions and some members began their competitions. Robotics has hit the ground running. Our 4-person Team Build is busy planning for their 3 days of intensity. Let's Go!!!
WTHS's FFA Team is taking Western Maryland by storm as they gear up to compete in Maryland's 97th FFA State Convention at Garrett College. Our Agriculture Sales Team and our Livestock Judging Teams are highly competitive and proud to represent Worcester Tech and Worcester County. Let's Go!!!
