Good Evening Pocomoke Community,
We understand that it is rare that students are involved in a physical altercation in our building, and it can be surprising when this happens. We have had only one incident this school year. One too many.
It’s our goal for students to never solve problems using physical force. But occasionally, with younger students, it occurs.
Thank you to our amazing staff for stopping this altercation within seconds.
We take acts of physical aggression very seriously. Consequences paired with interventions to stop patterns of negative behavior will be employed.
Families and community members, stand firm in high expectations for all children. Students can utilize positive communication skills to solve problems, and thrive. Encourage our youngsters to seek peaceful solutions to any conflict.
Please consider volunteering in our schools to see the amazing things our students do each day. Pocomoke students are truly phenomenal.
