The NEST early childcare center is a hidden gem in Worcester County. Early Childhood Education students under Instructor Diane Carey work collaboratively with Nest Director Melissa Holter to gain experience and internship hours that materialize into a Child Development Associate certification. Here, WTHS students participate in story time- reading high interest books with our youngsters in the center. Thank you to the Nest staff for providing these valuable opportunities for our students. This place is LEGIT!

WTHS students in Penny Makuchal's nursing program are busy creating news letters and other public relations materials to educate the general public about different health facts and issues ranging from kidney health to the importance of potassium in your diet. It is a good thing we can count on these students as the next generation of caretakers. They are ready for the challenge and responsibility! Great job students!

Student of the Month Benjamin Chase took the school by surprise when he showed up to school in English instructor Tara Threadgill's program with his latest creation: a hand made board game about Shakespeare's Macbeth. The game features 3-D printed player pieces, a detailed rule manual, and a hand crafted playing board all designed and produced by Ben! Wow! This student is beyond legit! Amazing!

WTHS is full of so many talented students showcasing skills in a variety of ways. Students in Alex Sousa's Interactive Media and Production program created a variety of high quality art pieces for submission at the 2025 High School Art Show and Competition. Wow! There are book clubs and then there are BOOK CLUBS. Dr. Penny Makuchal takes after school professional learning to a whole new level. Staff at WTHS have been staying late to read about and discuss a variety of topics related to being intentional and purposeful when we meet and gather- whether with family, community, or in the workplace. Meetings and gatherings should have a purpose and leave attendees feeling energized and excited and not like they wasted their time and effort. Wow...if you have never experienced PD with Penny, then you are missing out!

Coordinator Tamara Mills, Instructor Chris Jones, and WTHS students got to visit the studio and control room and sit on the set with Lisa Bryant and Mike Lichniak. WTHS is open for business! If you or someone you know is interested in visiting or utilizing the WTHS music studio, please contact the school.

WTHS continues to blaze trails. On Friday a lot of heavy hitting, rigorous activity was going on. Students practiced manicures in Cosmetology, laid intricate brick and block designs in Masonry, studied refrigerant in HVAC, and appeared on WBOC's Delmarva Life in an interview about our digital music program. We are also in the process of creating the Marlin Marketplace- a school shop featuring program products from honey to shirts to laser cut items. That's just the tip of the iceberg folks...standby!
